ford mondeo 18i petrol cambelt broken?

the cambelt on my ford mondeo 18i petrol snapped as I tried to start the car. would this have caused any other damage, ie. belt valves etc?

There's a very good chance that some valves are bent - a garage would put a new belt on then rotate the engine by hand before doing a compression test.
