How to determine correct cause of dash lights on 2000 VW Beetle?

Have a 2000 VW Beetle that is showing the lights for the Air Bag Circuit and the Anti-Lock Brake Circuit. I am trying to sale this car and would like for these lights to be off. I have ran this car for a year like this and feel that there is no problem with the system.
