Both my dishwasher and washing machine have stopped working at the same time. They are on a seperate circuit to everything else in the house and their trip switch in fuse box tripped (which I obviously thought was the problem initially). They are both run off fused spur (fuses are not blown) and there is power at each spur, any idea what could be the problem?

you probably hav a leak in either machine causing an earth and therefore trip, i have exactly same problem with my machines

It may be possible that you have a broken neutral (white) wire.

trips can be over sensative try a replacement they are not that
expensive
