I was just wanting to know if i would have a problem in trying to get my dashboard fixed (04 Scenic) through Renault if i bought the car from a dealer and not through a Renault dealer? Bought it through Evans Halshaw two years ago. I am going to give Renault CS a ring tomorrow to see if they can resolve the problem coz i dont have £300 - £600 pounds to fork out when it is clearly a manufacturing problem. Going away soon and i will need to know how fast i am going and how much petrol i have in coz at the minute it is telling me i have 9560 miles till i need to fill up! Well thats when it come back on

The Renault scenic dash failure is a very common problem.
I was fobbed off by Renault customer services have now contacted trading standards & BBC Watchdog.
I have been contacted today by a BBC researcher for Watchdog. They are investigating due the the high number of Renault customers with the same fault.
Please take the time to write to Watchdog explaining your situation. With a bit of luck, Renault will be looking for a book to put down their pants and a tissue to remove the egg stains from their face......

They have so many "bad" dashboards they're making a mint replacing them at £700 a time... I think they're clean out of goodwill.

I wish you luck, Kerry but I've a feeling that you won't get anywhere - all warranties have gone, unfortunately. Renault may consider a small goodwill payment, but I doubt it.
