How can I fix my JD 2130?

As I was driving my 2130 on the road in top gear, the rear end locked up and the tractor skidded to a stop. The right shifter will not move, stuck in 8th gear, but he left shifter will move to any of the gears I, II, N, and Reverse. Engine still starts, but cannot pull out of gear. Is it a transmission, parking brake, or something else, and how much should it cost? Is this something I can do myself without bodily harm?

From the description I would say that something has jammed the transmission between the gearbox and the differential. The gearbox and back end are heavy duty work. Gearbox removal will need, cab lifted, several jacks, three good men. A complete box from a breakers yard could cost several hundred pounds.

Drain some oil and check for metal.

Best case, the gear selector mechanism has jumped two gears in at once (unlikely). Remove the top of the box and check for damage.
