CH & HW lights flashing on Worcester 400 Highflow combi?

The CH and HW lights are flashing. Sometimes if you turn the HW temp dial up then down again the HW one stops, sometimes it doesn't. We have only been in the property a couple of weeks and have noticed that the boiler generates a lot of heat in the room it is in. Are the two problems related?

the boiler has a store of hot water in it. it is the equivalent of your airing cupboard it will be warm. if you have hw/ch then ignore the lights if they twinkle like stars.

when your light are flashing it is telling you that you boiler is in overheat and tripped out. when you reset the dial by turning it of then on you are ressetting the boiler, if this keeps happening ,you will probably need a new plate in the bolier ie( water to water heat exchanger) this is probably blocked. best thing to do is get worcester out as they will be the cheapest

Additional info when the lights are flashing the boiler isn't generating HW or running the CH.
