How to take defects out of resprayed bumper?

Hi, i have just resprayed a car bumper. It has been sanded, primed, painted, and now laquered.

But there are patches of runs in the laquer, and also a couple of matt patches despite plenty of laquer, i think overspray from the can as the patches were gloss before.

How can i just take these defects out without a complete redo of the bumper?

thanks

Hi there

If you have enough clear laquer on the bumper you can simply sand the runs out using a small block and some P1200 wet or dry paper. You have to be very careful not to sand through the clear and into the base though. Once the run is sanded out use a product called Farecla G3 to buff up to a gloss.

To be honest - maybe you would be as well blocking out the runs with P600 wet or dry paper and repainting the whole bumper, being careful next time not to get runs.

Either way - good luck
