I have a dark brown leather sofa, which now has a cut on the seat part right in the middle about an inch long my daughter said it was not her but our dogs claw, please can any one tell me how to cover it up or even fix it like new? I can not afford to replace it...

Fine stiching with button thread of a matching colo(u)r.

It often helps to put a rip-stop cut at each end to prevent spreading under tension, like the letter I.
