white k knight WONT SPIN IS IT MOTOR OR TIMER?

HI GOT WHITE K KNIGHT NUM. CL447WV
I TOOK IT APART TO SEE IF WAS HEATER ELEMENT OR MOTOR OR TIMER AND THE ELEMENT IS OK IT HEATS UP I HAD TAKEN THE DRUM OUT AND BELT WERE OFF WHEN I TRYED THIS WHEN I TURNED THE DRYER ON WITH THE DRUM OUT IT WORKED AND THE HEATER ELEMENT GOT HOT 2 TURNED IT OF THEN ON AGAIN AND DIDNT COME ON KICKED THE DRYER AND IT WORKED AGAIN WELL PUT ALL BACK TOGETHER AND IT DONT TURN AT ALL AND THE BELTS OK BUT THE MOTOR IS MAKING LIKE HUMMING SOUND BUT THATS IT .WHAT HAPPEND WAS I SMELT LIKE BURNING SMELL SO TURNED IT OF NOW LIKE SAY WONT SPIN ANYONE OUT THERE PIN POINT MY FAULT THANKS

Sounds like the capacitor has gone but if you smelled burning you might have cooked the motor as running the unit with the capacitor gone and the motor humming burns it out but you can test it easily by turning on the dryer so it should be running then with the door open spin the drum and close the door quickly and if the motor is ok it will normally work if not try this a few times as it is hard to get the door closed quick enough to catch the motor in action, the capacitor is the little silver battery type thing connected to the motor.
