My immobiliser activated after i jumped started it?

Hello,

I have a 54 plate, renault extreme, last friday i think i may have left my lights on and my battery died, after jump starting the car i managed to drive a few yards up the road and the car just conked out, the radio is now asking me for a code. Im convinced the immobiliser has been activated but having spoke to renault, they believe it isnt and have told me that i need a new battery which of couse will mean a huge charge, I disagreed with this diagnosis and insisted they gave me a code they have agreed to give me the code in person. Can anyone tell me how i to put the code in??? Many thanks

If the battery has been totally depleted it will probably need replaced. You dont have to buy from Renault, shop around other dealers, independent garages and motor factors.
I would never jump start any modern car. Even if it is done properly (and most people do it wrong, connecting battery directly to battery, starting car, revving up and disconnecting batteries) there is a strong possibility of damage to both cars' electronics.
I assume you are referring to the immobiliser bypass code, not the radio code.
The immo bypass is a temporary measure, and will have to be re-entered every time the engine is off for more than a few minutes.
Entry instructions are in your car handbook.
