my washer wont drain?

i HAVE A FRIDGIDAIRE OVER UNDER WASHER /DRYER THAT WONT DRAIN. i AM PRETTY SURE THE PUMP IS BAD OR CLOGGED BUT I DON;'T SEE HOW TO GET TO THE PUMP. DO I HAVE TO REMOVE THE DRYER FFROM THEW WASHER TO GET IT OPEN? SHOULD I EVEN TRY TO REPLACE THE PUMP MYSELF?

Remove the angled panel between the washer and dryer, then remove the screws located on the back of the washer top panel (go to apdepot.com or www3.sears.com for a breakdown of unit) push foward and remove top of washer(undo lid switch), next remove the two screws located on the front panel and lift up on panel now you have access to pump. Drain as much water as you can from machine before attempting to remove the pump, remove the two screws holding down the pump and place a small tray underneath pump to catch remaining water about 3 liters, undo hose clamp on one side and gently pull hose off to maintain control of water flow if no water is coming out on the one side than ease off the other hose and drain unit. Ensure unit is unplugged first. good luck.
