will start some times not all the time i have swapped keys but the fault is still there. I know when it wont start as the symbol of a car and key stay lit up when i turn the ignition on if they dont stay lit up the car will start . Any one know what the problem could be?

yeah hi it is def a immobiliser problem remove steering wheel covers and there will be a small ring around the ignition barrel with a wire connected to it check that this is plugged in failing that hold the other key to the ignition barrel while turning the other in the ignition to see if this reads the chip in the key.
