carbon emissions Vaux Frontera 2.2 petrol?

i have a Frontera, it has just failed the MOT on carbon emissions. On idle it is 0% on 2nd idle it is 300% the pass being 200%. What could the problem be?

Please post all the emissions test results.
Has the car been serviced?
Check for leaks on the air intake hose.
Make sure breather pipes are clear.
Have you checked spark plug condition?
