Glass Hanging Lamp?

Our glass hanging lamp has developed a crack around the top. I'm afraid it will continue to spread and the lamp will eventually fall apart. Is there a compound or glue that can cover the crack to prevent this?

No, not that I'm aware of, and if you tried, it would probably be unsightly. You should replace it before it is a safety hazard.

This could be dangerous if it falls apart with someone underneath...I think its cracking due to heat and its best replaced. There are glues that will stick glass (Loctite do one) but I don't know how good it is. Certainly it won't work as a filler over the crack.
