I have got a renault clio diesel 02reg,I am having trouble starting it a red light flashes on the dash the car wants to start its as if the immobiliser is not turning off, can anyone help?

I seem to have the same problem on a 51 plate. Does it start first time from cold? I find that it plays up when you've been driving for a while and leave the car switched off for a short time it then takes 3 attempts to start it? Is this the same problem as yours Wayne?
