My Snapper sr140 will not start all of the time. Intermittent fire?

I have a snapper sr 140 Rider with a 12.5HP Briggs engine. When it starts, it runs great. This mower has fewer than 50 hours on it, but had sat for over two years. I exchanged the gas for fresh gas. New air filter, new spark plug, new fuel filter, new fuel line, new battery, cleaned carburetor. I am completely stumped.

even though you put new gas in it.There is still old gas in the carb.trust me I have been there myself.Usually you will need to tear down and thoroughly clean the carb.If you are going to let any engine sit for awhile with gas in it then you need to add stable to the tank of gas.Stable can be bought at most any supply store.
