It must be in the engine compartment near the bulkhead
It must be lower than the bottom of the windscreen
It must be very close to the line of the front of the windscreen
It will probably be hidden behind a lightweight fibre cover
If the designer put it anywhere else the linkage would be very complex and consequently very expensive which would put the vehicle at a competitive disadvantage.
