It has been working fine for a number of years but has now stopped. It shows error code E1 which decodes as no water whenever I try any programme. Inlet tap is on and no kinks in pipe to machine. Water pressure is fine but no water getting into machine. Any ideas?

Hi Jamie, There is no inlet pump, but there is an aquastop device. If this fails the dishwasher will not fill. There is an inlet filter (only a small plastic device). It is possible this is clogged, take off the inlet hose & look in there for debris. You could also try pouring some water directly into the dishwasher (only to just above the the filter grid). Start a program, if all the water drains the pump system is good. Then the problem is likely to be the aquastop itself. This is activated via the PCB & it is a failsafe device...i.e it must have voltage applied to open. No voltage...it remains closed. If it is the aquastop it could be either an electrical or mechanical fault. The aquastop valve coil should have a value of around 4k ohm.

Thanks for the swift reply. Inlet hose and water supply are fine. The machine is pumping out at start of programme without problem but then fails to fill and sounds alarm and shows E1. Agree it could well be either inlet filter or inlet pump but not sure how to check these. Any ideas?

Check water supply & inlet hose for possible problems first. Is there any residual water in the dishwasher? All dishwashers start by expelling foul water before doing anything else. If it can't pump out adequately it won't fill either. Look for a drain problem. Check the filter, then the pump system. Post findings.
