I had to replace both gears under the bottom of the bobbin. To replace the one that sets verticle, I had to loosen a few things on the bar and pull it back to remove the old one and put on the new. Is there any adjustments that I need to do on that bar, it has a gear about mid way that I had to loosen. I have been trying the instructions that Ken sent, I got it where it where the needle won't hit the medal plate when I zig zag but it still skips.

Hello Betty,
You will need absolute patience when retiming sewing machines, it can take quite a few attempts to get it right, I doubt that you have messed anything up by loosening the bar providing you have put it back as it was, try the point of the hook just a fraction back or forward each time until you get it right.
