Resrew top on to Singer 774 Stylist ?

I've taken the top off of a Singer 774 Stylist and though it came off easily, I can't get it to fit back on to screw tight. What am I doing wrong?

Hello Lisa,
I take it you have the Touch and Sew 774 ! open the faceplate, put the top on and keep it over to the left, slide the top to the right so the hook or spring that is at the front of the cover clips over the pin and it should fit.
