This problem is caused by one of three things:
The fob needs to be re-associated with the car. To do this put the keys into the ignition and turn to the aux point (I) and press the lock or unlock button. If the central locking activates then this may solve the problem.
If the central locking doesn't activate, or it activates once or twice but the problem returns, you may need to change the battery in the fob. To do this pull the key blade away from the rest of the fob. You should then be able to open the fob to get access to the battery. You should be able to get a replacement battery at any jewellers. Once you've changed the battery, re-associate the fob with the car as explained above.
If the central locking still doesn't work, it is probably the actual fob itself which needs replacing, and you'll need to take the car to a Vauxhall dealer.
