As before check battery condition, Does the immobiliser LED prove out ok or is it flashing quickly when the key is on?

Lastly check that the start inhibit relay hasn't come loose in the fuse box. This is located behind the glove box and is the top left one. Tucked behind the metal bracket. Use a flat bladed screwdriver, lollypop stick or similar to ensure it's fully seated.

Lastly, next to the battery positive terminal is a single wire connector. This is the feed to the starter solenoid. With the CAR OUT OF GEAR disconnect this and feed the end that goes down into the engine bay with 12V. This will prove out the starter motor. If it does not crank suspect the starter, if it cranks then the fault is inside the vehicle.

When you turn key to third position do the ignition lights go dim?

Find the starter motor and locate a cable that is much thinner than the battery one...it'll be loose on its terminal, more than likely.
