Creda Crusader 37667 Dryer issue !?

Hi,

The dryer is making a high humm from the motor which isnt spinning, I replaced the belt a year ago and its in fine working order.

Drum spins by hand as does the motor.

I've checked thermostats on rear, no issues and heating element gets hot. I've replaced the 7U starter capacitor with a new one and still getting the same issue / hum.

Can't see any signs of blockages / obstructions

Can anybody advise please ?? I'm at a loss now, is it the motor ? What would you suggest ?

Many thanks !
Andrew

Capacitors fail more often than motors, but motors can also fail. If it isn't locked-up mechanically then one winding is either open circuit or shorted. You need a new motor.
