Jaguar x-Type diesel, bad starting when engine warm?

When warm my car frequently does not start properly. It sounds as though it is running on 2 cylinders for a few seconds before it catches, then it runs smoothly. This never happens when the engine is cold.

there is an ecu update that if you can get jaguar to do without doing umpteen other checks is half an hours labour, ask for the warm start up grade.

Mine too!! 05 plate - starts first time when cold but nipping to the shops and here and there becomes a nightmare AND EMBARASSING!!! Have tried pressing accelerator full down once before turning key, not depressing clutch when turning key (yes I know this is a very longshot!!) Have tried redex - getting fed up now. It does always start eventually.

bad to start when hot

Mine is doing exactly the same thing. 05 model, 93k miles. I find that holding the ignition key in the 'fire' position for a bit longer than feels right works, but we shouldn't have to do that. Help please people!!
