James, start from the source first, check for 240vac between (L1 and L2/ the black and red wires) next if you have a schematic check all components inline with the heating element (all thermal fuses and thermostats should be closed/ some unit use a heater relay in conjunction with the thermostats. Check for burnt connectors and wires plus excessive lint build up. Good luck
