can u drive with thermostat taken out?

took thermostat out,can i drive car to get new one?

No good in the winter heaters wont work properly and the engine will not get to the correct temperature will affect emissions engine managment system buy a new thermostat dont forget flush out the water from the engine put in some anti freeze to protect engine in the winter.

depends on what vehicle -if it is a by-pass type of t/stat [with seal on bottom as well as one at the top] then you will only get water circulating round small area of engine-so with this type they cant be taken out and still use vehicle!

Of course - the engine will just run cooler. Top it up first though!
