Is there a way to whiten a really old white ceramic bath?

My house has an original old ceramic bath. It needs a proper clean to bring back the white. It is always slightly off-white. Is there a good safe strong cleaning product to use on these baths?

Put about an inch of water in the bath. The using 500 grit wet and dry paper thoroughly rub it down rinsing often. The fine paper will not scratch the surface but will bring back the shine. Works great on toilet pans glass shower screens etc etc.

lemon and salt. pour salt over the bath, rub with half a lemon. salt removes the dirt and the lemon whites the ceramics.
