how can i fix my heat problem in my van?

i have no heat, the fan works and blows cold air,when you turn the heat control to cold the fan makes a banging noise for about 1 minute.(sounds like fan hitting something)
have changed thermostat.checked rad and added anti-freeze but still no heat
