I just bought a brand new BEKO WM5100 w from TESCO and it just won't wash?

My brand new BEKO WM1500 W purchased from TESCO is refusing to wash no matter how may times I try to reset it, it just blinks lights on various settings and the clothes remain unwashed. Is there a solution to this and why should TESCO be selling this useless junk anyway?

Maybe he really works for Asda & this is a just a sales gimmick?

I suspect that Frederick Kwesi Great is just avin-a-arf

I also suspect that it just might be a made up name.

After all - no sensible person comes to a site like this for help with a brand new appliance - not when they've just forked out £160

I should have added "you only get what you pay for".

Great...we have a major post going on this one!

It is rare for a new appliance or piece of electronics not to work "out of the box" perhaps you've been unlucky...

Is there a solution to this?

Yes - exercise your warranty after making sure you've read the operating instructions correctly.

and why should TESCO be selling this useless junk anyway?

Well if it doesn't work then it is useless. Tesco, however, gain nothing by selling you something that doesn't work. Tesco will have wanted it to work almost as much as you do. They need to sell stuff like this to keep their numbers up - sales currently about £1bn per week!

Hope you fell better soon...

Good luck with the warranty claim...

Don't blame the shop until you first check your handbook & make sure you are operating the machine correctly. If it still won't work contact the shop & ask for it to be repaired or replaced under the warranty. As for the question of why they sell a heap of junk, you could also ask why you bought it?

Lincoln Appliance NZ, October 2009
Look on the bright side...you are warranty covered unless you did something you shouldn't have. Read the user manual to ensure correct operation then call Tesco & claim a warranty repair/replacement.
