elu wiring ?

wiring for elu tgs 173 flip saw .i need to know how to connect the bridge rectifier in the on off switch

The device in the sawbench switch is a bridge rectifier but because only 3 terminals are connected only 2 of the 4 diodes in the bridge are being used; the 2 diodes have their cathodes connected together. One of the diodes feeds the no-volt dc solenoid while the other is a protection diode connected in reverse across the solenoid.

In normal use when the green ON button is pressed this solenoid is energised; if the mains power is temporarily disconnected the solenoid will de-energise which will allow the spring in the solenoid to physically move the push buttons into the OFF position so that if power is later restored the saw will not unexpectedly start up.

how wire the switch

the bridge rectifier uses one positive 2 ac and the negative is not used iit does have 4 legs thanks mate

Me baffled too...

Only need a rectifier if making DC - OK I accept a saw may need to make DC - to light a laser guide-light perhaps...

My electronics training years ago tells me a Bridge Recitifier needs 4 connections - AC in where the diodes are opposite to one another and the two DC connections where the diodes match.... How it might operate with a wire missing I can't imagine...

Is anything written on the Rectifier?

The fact that it's connected to the switch is neither here no there - just assembly convenience - Anti-Spark capacitors are nearly always fixed to the switch that's why I guessed it may be a capacitor.

Continuing good luck with your other question...

yes mate it has abridge rectifier across on off switch but only 3 out of 4 were in use im baffled

All about Bridge Rectifiers here...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diode_bridge

They have four connectors and help to make DC from AC power - are you sure your saw has a bridge rectifier?

Switches often have a capacaitor across them to prevent sparking when switching on/off - prolongs switch life - just two connectors.
