escort diesel?

hi all, disconnected the battery to charge,now getting all ignition light's but not cranking over,led light giving three short flashes & one other flash,i take it that it's the immobiliser kicking in and/or not reconizing the key.
the car is a 1996 ford escort diesel ghia estate,i would be very grateful & pleased with any advice given & thank you in advance
