My idiot boyfriend has broken our sat nav. The area that you plug in the charger has been compressed slightly, and the end of the charger is stuck inside!

Is this repairable or will we need a new sat nav? The guy in the shop said it is out of warranty and that it would be cheaper to just buy a new sat nav?

Any help would be great before my boyfriend has to fork out for a new one!!
