peugeot automatic gearbox???

I bought recently a peugeot 206 Automatic gearbox, while driving it and break and the car comes to a stand still I hear a noticible CLICK from the gearbox, I noticed that nearly every time I stop while the Transmition on Drive that makes the car trumble for a second..... can anyone advise me on what to check for and what might be the provisionale problem, Car has only 44000 on the clock... PLEASE HELP

Sounds like the lock up clutch in the torque converter is not unlocking properly. Check live data with a decent scanner. (Snap-On will not let you see enough data) to see if it is still commanding lock up when it shouldn't. It feels like a manual box if you don't depress the clutch fully. The converter can fail and normally will leave debris in the cooler block located at the rear upper part of the gearbox. For more help visit 'fedauto.co.uk'

Unfortunately the French auto transmissions are reknowned to be the most unreliable in the business I'm afraid to say...I think the noise is comong from clutch bands within the gearbox (these grip revolving shafts, and preventing their rotation). Other than checking the oil level and having it changed from time to time there is nothing that an average person can do with an auto box. Seek out an auto transmission specialist for their opinion?
