Hotpoint Condenser Tumble Dryer - TDC30P?

I have a Hotpoint condenser tumble dryer (TDC30P). The control knob has broken off the timer spindle. I can buy a control knob from one of the spares companies. Does it just push on the spindle, or is it more complicated than that?
