How can I fix my Citroen Xantia 3rd gear synchro?

We are going to have to change the 3rd gear synchro on a Xantia turbo Diesel. We have been told by Citroen agent that it is possible to do so insitu via the wheel arch & taking off casing plate.
Do you have any exploded view diagrams & any advice please?
