This may be due to the abs sensor or the ring on the outer cv joint. I have just had to change the near side ring and sensor on a 51plate clio because the ring broke and damaged the sensor. Does the abs warning light come on? If so, this is further reason to look at the sensor and ring. Note the ring should turn with the cv joint, not spin on it.
