Run your knife for about 3 seconds each swipe through the left side slots - no.1 - alternating between left and ride side slots - do this 3 times each. Keep the blade parallel with the work surface and lift up slightly as you get to the tip. Dont press down too firmly or the wheels will stall.
Then repeat the same procedure with the right side no.2 slots to polish - 3 seconds each swipe and alternating left and right side slots. Finally, to finish, one 1 second swipe through slot no.2 left and right side.
