How can I fix my Janome J3-24 sewing machine?

The needle goes down and then no further. The thread seems to be getting caught around the bobbin.

Check the threading of the machine, make sure the presser foot is up when threading the machine, make sure the tensions are set properly and make sure the bobbin is in the correct way round, make sure the needle is in the correct way round if all that fails you may need to retime the machine.
