Speakers on a laptop aren't all that powerful. You can run a set of more powerful speakers with their own sound levels from your laptop by plugging them into the line out port (usually where you plug headphones in, if you do so.
You can then go into Control Panel, Sound and Audio Devices, and under Speaker Settings, set both the volume, and under Advanced, set speaker configuration.
Or u can if you are in Windows Media Player then go into your Enhancements and look in the taskbar that appears down in the bottom left. Press the arrows and find GRAPHIC EQUALISER, and pull 1KHz to the top mark. This should help because it works for me, it makes it louder but may distort the sound a bit.
