I seem to of lost one of the drives on my PC. I've even done a system restore to try and sort it out. But thats not helped either. O cant affor to take it and have it repaired so any ideas would be truely gratefull.

Presumably you mean a disk drive?

They are pretty much a throw away commodity disk drives -
PC World 160GB SATA 3.5" 7200rpm £35

The files on it are toast (as they say - I think)...
