How do i fix the ceramic hob on a HOTPOINT EW91 COOKER?

The hob(left rear) heats up when switched off at control knob,but goes off when main wall switch is off.

Good question - the back two of the four hobs on my EW91 have stopped working but I can't see why, becasue the other front two still work as normal........
