HOw to remove hob on Zanussi ZCE7701?

I need to access the front controls on a Zanussi ZCE 7701 which would seem to involve lifting the hob. How do I go about it>?

1) MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT TO THE COOKER IS TURNED OFF. EITHER BY SWITCHING THE CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR THE APPLIANCE TO "OFF" OR BY TURNING ALL THE ELECTRICAL POWER TO YOUR DWELLING OFF.

2) remove the side panels to the oven.

First take out the screws at the back of the oven which go through the edge of the side panels.

Then gently prize off the two tall, vertical, narrow, rectangular panels on the sides of the oven at the front. ( you may need to slide the panels down about 4mm in order to do this . Beneath the panels are more screws holding the side panel on. Remove these screws.

Lift the side panels off - beware the edges may be sharp.

3. On each side of the hob are two clamps holding it to the top edge of the oven. Undo the screws that go through the clamp to the hob. There is no need to remove the clamp as such, just the screws mentioned.

4. The hob is should now move back about 3 or 4 mm and then lift up at the front - it is hinged at the back. The hob tends to stick so you may need to GENTLY ease it back and then up using a screw driver.

THE DISTANCE THE HOB CAN LIFT UP IS LIMITED BY THE WIRING BENEATH IT, SO LIFT WITH CARE AND TAKE CARE THAT THE WIRING IS NOT PULLED TIGHT.
