Read other answers about stopped clocks. Every clock needs oil, depending on the environment every 3 to 5 years. They are mechanical and wear out the bushings and these need to be replaced every 7-12 years (expensive). But unlike your car which you will replace, your clock will go to your great grandchildren. If you can, find a good reputable repairman in your area and talk with him.
