This job can also be done without taking the motor off which is how I do it all the time which if you are not very competant it will save you having to adjust the belt etc.

remove the plug then remove the top pull the connector off and remove the motor using a flat bladed screwdriver lift the retaining clip at the end of the brush and slide out (remove the wire off the brush) to replace slide the brushes in and ensure the clip has located behind the caseing then lift the small brass tag holding the brushes in the holder revese the process to rebuild hope this helps
