How can I mend my dishwasher?

My dishwasher starts up for about 10 seconds, filling the bottom with water but then stops, all indicators showing proberly ie. lights, no pipes are blocked. Any solutions please. Thank you.

I thought you were very polite too! As Lincon said if you hear a slight buzzing noise it could indicate a defective motor capacitor (at best), jammed impellor (worse), or a defective motor (worst). If you don't hear anything it's likely to be expensive.

You sound so polite I only wish I could give you a definite answer. If it fills ok to the correct level then I would say that there is a fault with the wash motor not starting. Could be a damaged wire, faulty motor or no power being supplied down to the motor by the timer or controller. You haven't said what make & model it is that may of helped. Also, can you hear any sounds at all when the water stops? Maybe a slight humming or buzzing noise?
