Water runs from hose at point of entry to electric shower on wall?

I have a Gainsborough SV700 electric shower and when I switch it on to use water is running down th hose from the point of entry to the wall unit....water is also reaching the shower head.....is this a faulty or danaged hose or something more serious ??

If you take of the shower cover, you'll probably find the plastic manifold is cracked that the hose outlet screws to.
