will my micra run properly after i have had a new gear box fitted or will it malfunction as it is an old car?
the reason i ask is because it is an expensive repair and may not be worthwhile.
Thank you for your advice Dave. I am having a new gear box fitted (at great expense!) although it cost more than the car is worth it is my only answer as I cannot afford a new one at the moment.

buy another gear box the micra are a good car and well built the engines are tough and they are cheap and easy to meintane the scrappage scheme is a con and new cars can break down and cost more money.

Its not a risk I would take...if your car is old, consider using the scrappage scheme if you can, or buying another. Failing that, have a second hand gearbox fitted. Don't spend more than the car is worth!
