how can i fix my diesal pump on vectra b 2.0 litre dti 1999?

hi problems with pump on vectra cant find the same pump anywhere want to know if i could fix this myself i am a mechanic but never had alot to do with pumps so struggling 99 vectra b diesal 2.0 dti had it only 1 week pump number 5010990129 966086

if your pump is gone and you get another one from scrap car you need the cars ecu as well as the pump is match to it if you dont take the cars ecu then the pump wont work and you need to get it programmed into your won ecu

Not really practical to rebuild the pump yourself, best send it to someone like this

to find out if it is repairable or fit for service exchange. As you have probably found out, a new pump will cost more than the car is worth, and secondhand ones off scrap cars/ebay are hard to come by and may be on their last legs.
Are you sure the pump has failed? These can suffer from faulty crank sensors which, for some strange reason, show on diagnostics as a diesel pump fault (no engine speed signal).
Might be worth sticking a new, or known good, CK sensor on to try.
