blank screen samsung u900 soul?

when i slide open my phone and swicth it on ,everything boots up and works fine,as it should. But when i close my phone, and slide it open again,the screen is blank. If the phone is left open,, the screen will stay on as normal.and work perfectly well.Can anybody help.
