replacing a bulb?

i have a belling cooker and need to replace the bulb but cant remove the outer casing to replace it.

The glass covers are made of very thick glass - if it's circular it will unscrew anticlockwise - if rectangular then you can prise it out with a flat bladed screwdriver. The bulb will unscrew anticlockwise.
